WONFERFUL potato salad. Loved this, I used red onion and cut back a little on the mayo, as a reviewer suggested. Also, I didn't have pickle relish, only hotdog relish, which I threw in to cover both the relish and the mustard, otherwise I followed the recipe, couldn't be beat! Friends at work that I shared with loved it also! Thanks, I'll make this again!
I used Yukon Gold potatoes and reduced the mayo by about 1/4 c., otherwise followed the recipe to a "T". The bacon tip was very efficient. Thanks for sharing.
FABULOUS! Oh so creamy and rich. Love the tip about the bacon bits - it really works! Omitted the relish, celery seeds, and boiled eggs to make it more "family friendly" for us. Used green onions as the onion, and halved the amount of celery. Will definately make again and again!
my DH said this is the best salad you have ever made. I was low on the mayo so I add 1/2 sour cream instead and I did not yet have the boiled egg and bacon, so I told him I will add those two in as well. He said;don't even touch it, leave it alone!" Thanx for the recipe!
This is the first potato salad that I have ever made and it was delicious! My husband loved it and he took some to his grandmother and mom and they loved it too. I like the variety of spices, I usually am not a big fan of potato salad because it is so bland but this is really good.
Brought this to a potluck....everybody loved it! Thanks so much!
This is the BEST if not ONE of the BEST. I love everything about this salad. Thank you Karen. Bheng
YUM!! This was hands down the best potato salad we've ever had (and believe me, we've made and/or purchased many various kinds in the past!). What really threw me was what simple ingredients were involved. My husband and I lean towards more exotic ingredients and are spice-aholics, and at first glance I really thought this potato salad would be just ho-hum, but WOW were we pleasantly suprised! My husband now says that we will never "buy" potato salad again -- he only wants this one, and I agree. The only change I'll make next time is to cut down a bit on the salt amount. 1.5 tsp was a bit too salty for me, but perhaps that's because I highly salted the water I boiled the potatoes in? Next time, I'll use 1/2 the amount of salt and see how that works. THANKS for sharing such a spectacular recipe!!!
very tasty and would definitely make again.
Let me start by saying when it comes to potato salad, my family is very picky. So the fact that they all ate some of this is amazing in itself. I liked it enough that I kept picking at it, but not enough to sit down and eat a big scoop all at one time. DH had no problem doing that though and ate the majority of the leftover with his lunches at work.
