Creamy Garlic Pasta

"This is a great fast comfort food dish that my dad got a long time ago out of some gourmet magazine and has given to me. It's simple and cheap, and definitely for garlic lovers! Be prepared to sweat garlic in the gym the next day."

directions

  • Press all of the garlic with a garlic press.
  • Start to heat the water for cooking the spaghetti now. Don't forget the salt!
  • Heat the garlic and olive oil on very low in a frying pan for about 10-15 minutes. You know it's ready when other people can smell it from everywhere within your dwelling. DO NOT LET THE GARLIC BROWN. If it starts to sizzle, add some olive oil to cool it down.
  • Meanwhile add the spaghetti to the water if it's boiling. Cook to al dente.
  • Add the heavy cream to the garlic mixture and turn up the heat to medium. Stir occasionally until the sauce is consistent throughout.
  • Add half a handful of the parsley to the sauce and cook for another two minutes.
  • Combine the cooked pasta, sauce and parmesan cheese. Stir well and serve!
  • Use salt, pepper, parmesan and more parsley for garnish.

  1. What a delicious and easy dish. The amount of cream sounded like it wouldn't be enough so I actually increased it to 3/4 cup. Also, used light cream instead of heavy. If you love garlic you will love this. Thanks for posting.

  2. This is defiantly for garlic lovers. Very good and easy to prepare but short on sauce, I made a single serving and 1/2 cup cream wasn't enough so next time I'll double the cream and add a bit more cheese. Made for *Fall 2008 PAC* Thanks!

  3. I absolutely adore pasta and always make my own lasagne, spaghetti and tagliatelle, but in England,we have bird flu at the moment,so I have made a slight adjustment and used fusilli

  4. This is a great simple meal, and it was on the table in less than 15 minutes. Like others, I added extra cream (went with 1 1/2 cups suggested by Brenda). Also, my family preferred salt and pepper to round out the taste. But all in all, this is a great light pasta dish.

  5. A really nice "fix it fast" recipe! I love, love, love garlic so you hooked me with that. I did however need to increase the sauce ingredients as the other reviewers stated. For 1 lb of spaghetti, I used 1 1/2 cups heavy cream and 3/4 cup parmesan. DH salted his a bit and was quite happy. Thank you for sharing. *Made for Fall PAC 2008*

i love food... when i'm not eating, i'm thinking about food or reading recipes. if i didn't run, i would probably weigh about 300 lbs. i had a disease for three years that gave me a milk allergy but i decided i would rather be sick than not eat cheese.
