This is probably the finest fruit salad I have ever tasted! It is contrary to my nature to make a recipe just the way it is in the book, so here's what I did. I reduced the water from 1/2 cup to 1/4 and made up the difference with light rum. Pecans are not high on my scale of great nuts, so I substituted almonds. Added large dashes of nugmeg and cinnamon. Superb!
This is good. You can also substitute the pudding for vanilla yogurt. That's what I use for a healthier dessert.
Holy Yum! I made this for my DD birthday brunch. I pretty much eye-balled the amounts of fruit I used, and I also added some diced kiwi. The pecans really make this, they add a really nice crunch! Thank you so much for sharing, everybody loved it!
Great recipe! I modified it a little bit based on fruit that wasn't in season here. I omitted the bananas because I don't really care for them in fruit salad. I used apples, pineapple, frozen sliced strawberries and frozen wild blueberries instead of the grapes. I also used sliced almonds instead of pecans simply because I had them on hand. Tates great! Not exactly pretty once you add the pudding mixture to it, but it definitely tastes wonderful!
Okay, I altered this just a tad and I hope you don't mind if I share. Of course my recipe is a bit more fattening too! I didn't add apples because I simple don't like them. Just added more banana and strawberries. Also I used sugar-free CHEESECAKE pudding instead...yummy! Then instead of plain pecans I used cinnamon and sugar roasted pecans that I had just made. THIS IS TO DIE FOR! Even my 3 kids are eating it. And THAT is amazing. Thank you so much!!!!
I made this for a family gathering and everyone wanted the recipe so they could make their own. I made one small change and substituted blueberries for the grapes.

I took this to a gathering and some people liked it but most people didn't. I was hoping it would be wonderful because it sounds very good and we like the ingredients, just not all mixed together, I guess. I won't be making this again, but thanks for sharing.
This has an absolute wonderful flavor. Very sweet and light tasting with a distinct summer feel. I just wished it would keep more than a day. This would be a great recipe for a party but keep in mind it makes a lot, so I would recommend halfing (or even less) the recipe for everyday consumption. ~~ I hate when people say they adjust the recipes, because it doesn't give an accurate representation of that recipe, but in this case I had to remove the nuts due to allergies. So I made this, as the recipe calls for, but sans nuts.
Very good. I also added a little cinnamon and nutmeg and it was very popular.
