This is a grand recipe. It reminds me of the clam chowder that I used to get at Ivar's on the Seattle dock front. It's rich and clamy (in a very good way!) and really hit the marker last night with some fresh hot biscuits. It felt odd making the chowder without potatoes but, in the end, they weren't missed. Made for Culinary Quest 2014.

I also thought I would miss the potatoes, but I was wrong...this was absolutely delightful. I coarsely chopped the bacon and the clams to make the chowder a little chunkier. The end result was a very delicious soup! Thanks for sharing!
This traditional clam chowder rocks Lavender Lynn. It was awesome, simply awesome, made exactly as written. My very picky dh loved it. He said it tasted like his moms, minus the potatoes. Very high praise indeed. It was wonderful, smooth and silky, with a lovely delicate flavor, the clams were center stage. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you so much for sharing this tasty treat with us. Made for my very talented Pac baby.
This was good and easy to make. I followed the recipe as written and the whole family enjoyed it. This really hit the spot on a cold snowy day.
This clam chowder is excellent! I had all the ingredients on hand and what a beautifully delicious way to combine them all! The only extra ingredient I added was a little salt, I served with saltines and a tossed salad for the perfect simple Sunday evening meal. I thought I might miss the diced potatoes in this recipe, but who needs them? ; ) Thanks for this delicious recipe, Lavender Lynn!
