We have made this a regular in our home. It is so easy to make and tastes so good. I tried putting it in a double pie shell once and it was the best chicken pot pie we ever ate. I added some diced potatoes when I did that and it was awesome. Also...we use French's crispy onion bits for the topping instead of the crackers. I line the bottom of the dish with them also for some extra crunch.
Made this last nite for dinner. Made it strictly by the receipe. While it was very good we just thought maybe it was missing just a little something. Next time I may try adding a few shallots or some more seasoning. Will definitely try again though!!
Wow, super fast and so good. I have made this with chicken and tuna and both turned out great! For the veggies I used peas and carrots for both and it was delicious!
I made this for our Sunday night dinner. It was really tasty. Instead of biscuits, I cooked some whole wheat egg noodles and served the casserole over that. Thank you for the great supper, and this was made for Spring PAC 2009.
This was a lovely casserole Patti C. Very tasty and comforting. We enjoyed this very much. For the vegetables I choose frozen green peas, sliced mushroom and slivers of sweet onion. The sauce was rich and creamy but not overpowering. I really loved the addition of the ritz crackers. They complimented the dish perfectly. I served the casserole with fresh pasta. It was wonderful. *Made for PAC Spring 2008* A wonderful, quick to fix dinner. I used shoepeg corn for the veg and took your suggestion of Southern Style biscuits. I sprinkled about 3/4 cup sharp cheddar over the casserole before adding the Ritz crumbs. Absolutely delicious! Thanks for sharing.
Definitely easy to make and a wonderful comfort food. Made with leftover chicken and served over buttermilk bisquits. Delicious and creamy! The buttery ritz crackers on top added a yummy buttery/crunchy flavor. Made and reviewed for PAC, Spring 2008.
