Sharon, I so wish that I could rate this higher, but unfortunately, it didn't work out too well for me. I actually made this drink twice, I thought the curdle was because it might have boiled. So I threw it out and started again, never leaving the kitchen. I was very surprised when it curdled again. I did drink it and enjoyed the flavor but not the texture. If I were to make this again, I think that I would add the vanilla, just before serving. Made for Comfort Cafe-Chalet 01/10 :)
This was so simple and so delicious, like another reviewer said it's a bit like drinking apple pie. I used caramel dip in place of the syrup. Thanks Sharon for a great recipe!
Wow, where has this yummy drink been all my life?? We all loved this and thought it should be re-named "Apple Pie in a Mug". The only thing I might change for next time is adding slightly less caramel syrup (starting w/ 3 TB per 2 servings instead of 4). Because it was *almost* too sweet & decadent.
Excellent !! This was a nice treat after coming home for valentines day dinner last night. Very Very flavorful. The apple cider, caramel, was great . This works great with a cold, since I have one. Made for Potluck tag. Thanks Sharon for another winner.
I was a bit leery of whipped cream on cider but it works! I don't use caramel syrup or topping because of the sugar, I use caramel extract in it's place. The caramel and vanilla with the apple is simply marvelous. I made the one serving and heated the cider in the micro then added the extracts, squirted the whipped cream, sprinkled the spices and it was done in about 4 mins! Easy peasy and delicious.
