Like others here and on the web, I looked at this recipe on the Hillbilly website, and said to myself "YUCK! No way are my kids gonna eat that!" And then I finished reading the reviews, and pretty much every one of them said "But after we forced ourselves to try, we realized it was delicious, and is now part of our regular menu planning." This is also going to be true for us. This VERY frugal dish was great served over rice, and my kids practically licked their plates clean. I loved that, like most of the original Hillbilly recipes, this doesn't rely on heavily processed foods for flavor; it is also fairly healthy; and unlike some of the more labor intensive ones, this is FAST! :) Thank you for posting, I will definitely be making this again.

I have always loved the hillbilly site for great recipes on a dime. When I first tried this I was iffy because it just doesn't sound good but SURPRISE. I use season salt instead of salt and follow the rest accordingly. Easily Doubled and better the second day. I also like Hillbillies Slush recipe and her Hamburger Pinwheel.
