This is a recipe I got from my mother. It is very simple and price savy.
- 7 slices chipped beef
- 4 tablespoons margarine or 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- In a saucepan on med-high heat melt butter and stir in flour and salt; let bubble 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and stir gradually stir in milk.
- Bring to a boil.
- Tear meat into pieces and add to saucepan; cook until thickened.
- Serve over toast.
