  1. Add to creamed butter the brown sugar, and cream well.
  2. Blend in egg yolk.
  3. Add flour and vanilla.
  4. Chill.
  5. Shape into balls the size of a marble.
  6. Flatten to 1/8 inch thickness.
  7. Bake at 325 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until browned very lightly.
  8. Place cookies together with frosting, sandwich style.
  9. For frosting, brown butter slightly.
  10. Remove from heat and blend in powdered sugar.
  11. Add vanilla and cream.
  12. Cream well.

Delicious! I added a little bit of baking soda to the dough, and the cookies turned out soft and wonderful.
