Hey Jude, this is DELIGHTFUL! I had several cups of sweet potatoes leftover from Crock Pot Sweet Potatoes & Cranberries With Toasted Pecans and they were already seasoned. I followed your recipe & added all the ingredients except the cinnamon. I also subbed a yellow onion for the leek. This is amazing! Served this for 14 people at Thanksgiving & it was wonderful! Everyone really liked it. Absolutely delightful! Funny, i got into an arguement with the grocer about sweet potatoes versus yams (becuase I always get them confused and am afraid to buy the wrong one). Well, he swore up and down that the wite ones are sweet potates and the orange ones are yams (this, byt he way, is the opposite of what the zaar dictionary tells me). I ignored him and used the orange ones. It is YUMMY! On enote on the recipe, though--was I really only supposed to simmer for 5 minutes? I simmered for about half an hour...
