Thanks dancer I was looking for an alternative to the big C.... it is getting to expensive these days. And I think this is simple and healther. Added to my camping recipes, just put in zip lock bags, recipes used in tuna casserole, creamed chipped beef, noodles alfredo, looking foward to expermenting with more recipes.
This is great. I have mine stored in an old washed out pickle jar with the recipe taped to the outside for when it is gone. I've used this in casseroles, chicken pot pie, and a beef stew. So easy to make and much cheaper than spending money on cans of "guess what ingredients I really have".
Realized I didn't have cheddar cheese cream soup at the last minute. Whipped this together and it was great. Add 1/2 c. shredded cheddar to my dish to make it 'cheddar.' Thanks, I will make this again.
I have been looking for an alternative to a cream soup base that I purchase from a restaurant supply. It is very good, but expensive. This recipe is different from that soup base, but still good. It was way too salty for me. I reduced the chicken bouillon by 1/2 and this helped. I may eliminate it alltogether for more of a generic base. This is a great recipe to start with, and adjusts easily to suit your taste. Kudos!
