If you like cilantro, this soup is for you. It is very similar to a top rated recipe from Southern Living magazine so I thought I would try it. This soup is really good, my whole family loved it and it was easy to make. This recipe is a keeper!!! The only thing I would change is I would grind the cilantro - with the garlic - in the blender instead of the food processor to make it a little more smooth.

If you like cilantro, you will LOVE this soup! I am a huge cilantro fan and was looking for a recipe to use up my leftover cilantro, so I thought I would give it a try. It was VERY easy and VERY tasty. As the other comment suggested, I will probably throw my garlic in the blender with my cilantro and broth next time. I made 1/2 a batch, and my husband and I ate the entire pot-full for dinner last night. He added the red pepper flakes to his, but I didn't think it needed it. Thanks for a great recipe, Di!

My son and husband liked this but I found the sour cream flavor overwhelming.

Awesome! Ok, so I changed it a bunch - I only had half a package of cream cheese, and I added a head of cauliflower. It turned out delicious, though, and I will put this in my keeper file!

This has always been one of my favs! I do toss the garlic into the blender with the cilantro and usually a jalapeño or two. Also great served chilled as a dip!

This soup was simply wonderful for taste and simplicity! My boyfriend said this is one of the best soups he has ever had. I did add three extra cloves of garlic and increased the cumin to 1 teaspoon as these are two flavours we love and they complimented the cilantro well. It will definitely become a winter favourite in our house.

I made this the other night for dinner and it got mixed reviews. The little ones didn't like it but the adults did. My hubby said he had to use the sour cream garnish because it cuts the "bitter" taste. I cut the recipe in half and it came out great. I also am finding uses for the left overs. So far I put some in my chorizo and eggs. It was awesome!!!!!!!!

This soup was oh so good tasting and very rich. You do have to like the flavor of cilantro. I took some to work and reheated it, I think it was better the second day.

This is deliriously creamy! Only a few minor changes: 1 tablespoon of butter, added some salt and freshly ground black pepper, and homemade veggie stock. What a lovely shade of green and the soup tastes as if it has full-fat ingredients. But I don't have to feel guilty! In a pinch, you could also sub nonfat plain yogurt for a portion of the sour cream. I'll try that next time and see how it tastes. I finally found the soup I'm going to prepare for our annual Soup Day at work in October/November. Everyone brings their own crockpot and we work and eat off many different kinds of soup all day long. They'll enjoy this soup. Thanks for sharing. cg
