This is in our family cookbook. This is a great gravy made from scratch. Serve over mashed potatoes meat or bread it is great.

Directions

  1. Heat skillet.
  2. Add oil.
  3. Add flour when oil is hot.
  4. Salt and pepper.
  5. Cook over medium high heat to cook flour almost brown.
  6. Add milk and stir till the desired thickness.

I just googled and stumbled onto this recipe, because I wanted an easy cream gravy to go with my chicken strips. I think I undercooked the flour because it still tasted slightly under-done but regardless, this recipe is fantastic! I added a few sprinkles of onion powder seasoning and it was perfect. This one is a keeper!
