Cream Cheese Middle Substitute (No-Cook Divinty)

This recipe was posted in reply to a thread request for no-cook divinity, but in preparing, I (and others)have found it does not harden like a typical divinity. It is delicious, but does have the consistency of a cream-cheese middle. When I made it, it was a substitute for the cream cheese middle for a dessert and worked wonderfully. If you're aiming for this to make divinity candy, it doesn't work as even another reviewer had the same outcome as I did. I didn't whip the candy for as long as the recipe states on purpose for my benefit, but obviously when doing it exactly as the recipe states it doesn't work either.

Wow, I don't even know what I could have possibly done wrong, the directions only have 3 steps, how easy is that! I didn't give up easy, I tried 3 times, and the last time, left mixer on for 14 min. till I couldn't stand listening anymore. I could not get the mixture to fluff, it stayed in liquid form. I have a big heavy duty kitchen=aid mixer at that. I couldn't try it at all. Thinking about the directions for Dream Whip, you do use cold milk, so don't know if the boiling water prevented it whipping or what, but I give! I have a huge mess, on high it was flying out of the large bowl all over the place. Sorry, I have never given a rating this low, but after 3 times, I felt it was the right thing to do.
