Luscious, tempting, creamy ice cream!! Something different THIS SUMMER!
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- Blend cream cheese, milk, lemon juice, sugar and salt in blender till smooth. Transfer to bowl, then stir in cream.
- Freeze cream cheese mix in ice cream maker, transfter to airtight container and put in freezer to harden, at least 2 hours. Let ice cream soften 5 min before serving.
This was a great basic Cuisinart Ice Cream maker recipe. I read the reviews and also changed the recipe: 1 cup of cream, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 tbs vanilla. I also added 1/2 cup marachino cherry halves, chopped pecans and pieces of a graham cracker crush. My quality control department (husband) announced it terrific!
i used strawberry cream cheese and added a cup of strawberries it was so creamy and i loved the way flavored cream cheese added so much
I doubled the heavy cream, added crushed baker's chocolate and cinnamon. One warning, though. When I put this in my Cuisinart ice cream maker, even with extra liquid, it was a bit too stout for the motor. Watch it carefully as it churns and remove it if the machine sounds like it's straining. As for taste and texture? YUMMY!
