Cranberry French Toast

• Serves: 4

ingredients

• 1 loaf challah (or other yeast egg bread)
• 226.79 g package light cream cheese
• 236.59 ml sugar (or Splenda)
• 354.88 ml fresh cranberries (or frozen, some have even used dried cranberries and you may sub strawberries too!)
• 59.14 ml butter (1/4 cup)
• 4 eggs
• 118.29 ml whole milk (or almond, soy, or rice milk)

directions

1. Slice challah bread into thick pieces.
2. Combine the cream cheese, sugar, and cranberries together. Cut a pocket into the bread and stuff cream cheese mixture inside.
3. Melt butter over medium heat in a skillet.
4. Beat eggs and milk together in a large bowl. Dip stuffed bread into egg mixture, coating both sides. Place bread in skillet, cook 1 to 2 minutes on each side, till a nice golden brown.
5. Enjoy!

Lovely, lovely french toast Sharon, I really enjoyed this. I scaled this down for one. This treat is truly decadent. Rich, creamy, sweet, tart and tangy. I love challah bread, it is the perfect choice for this delicious french toast. It was easy to put together and all the flavors compliment each other perfectly. I will make this again and will add a little orange rind to further enhance the cream cheese and a little less sugar. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
