This recipe is based on one my midwife, Yelena, described to me on the phone 10 years ago. I have adjusted it to suit my family's tastes.
- 24 ounces fresh cranberries
- 3 cups port wine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 dash dried orange peel
- 1 dash ground cloves
- Combine all ingredients in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes till cranberries "pop.".
- Serve Warm over turkey or pork (if you can stop yourself from eating it all up with a spoon right from the pan)!
I made this last Thanksgiving and put it on my Tofurky. It was amazing! Even my husband, who hates cranberrie sauce, loved it.
