Crack'in Good Tuna Mornay

"I found this recipe in the 1991 edition of the Australian Women's Weekly. It has been a family favourite ever since. A very good recipe to fall back on to if you forget to defrost some meat for dinner."

Questions & Replies

 1. Hi I cooked this Tuna Mornay according to recipe... 25 mins only to find out peas and shallots not cooked. I think it needed more than 25 mins, more like a hour to cook everything.

 4. I haven't had a GOOD tuna casserole in ages so tend to avoid them. This one definitely changed that! The recipe goes into my keeper file as it was a hit with all diners. I wasn't sure of what constituted "tasty" cheese so used pepper jack. thank you for sharing the recipe! Made for Fall 2012 Pick A Chef.

 5. Quite good. Has a nice creamy flavour. I used a little over 1/2 cup each of peas and corn. And probably next time will add some onion (cooked) too. Mine did come out a little sloppy- I think I'll add more flour next time. I may also add some pasta next time- that is often included in other versions, and in that case there is the right amount of sloppiness, iykwim! Good recipe.

I used to love buying cooking magazines every month but I found that I would use 1 or 2 recipes if I was lucky. Then I stumbled across Recipezaar in a search engine when looking for inspiration for sausages. I really like the variety and I have gotten some great ideas. Things have changed since that day. I don't waste money on the magazines any more. Now my family are enjoying a new variety of meals, which have been fantastic. HSN.com Coupon
