My husband liked these cookies but its not my favorite cowboy cookie recipe. Not enough chocolate chips. I will try it substituting butter or margarine for the lard/shortening. Ended up tasting too much like shortening and sugar.

5 Stars from our whole family including my 89 yo Grandma (she took the recipe home with her). I used the medium sized Pampered Chef scoop and got about 3 dozen cookies. I baked them for 14 minutes. Thanks so much for sharing *Made for Fall PAC 2008*

These were super good! I didn't have the walnuts, so I made them without and they were still fabulous! I made these a bit larger so I didn't get 6 dozen out of it. I had to bake a little longer due to changing the size, but otherwise I followed the recipe. They are great!
