I believe I found this recipe in one of my mother's old cookbooks as a teenager and made them so much that I practically memorized the recipe. It's one of my and my family's favorites. This is not your typical brownie. It's a different take on a blonde brownie--with gooey chocolate chips, crunchy walnuts and chewy coconut. They're best described as a sinfully rich chocolate delight.

This recipe was made on 10/5/10 for the " October Is Dessert Month Event ". I did something to this recipe that I hardly ever do, it was made as written. ;). I did have to bake this about 10 minutes longer than what is written( my oven runs really odd ). The taste of this wonderful creation is a cross between a sinfully rich cookie and a decadent brownie. I WILL make these again ( just not too often ;) ). Thank you so much for posting and, " Keep Smiling :) "

WOWSER! :) These are very rich blond brownies, loaded with semi-sweet chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut! I melted the butter and brown sugar together over low heat, mainly because my brown sugar had almost turned to stone! :) I used hazelnut extract and toasted 3/4 cup walnuts in a hot iron skillet before chopping them ~ Made for Andi's May 2010 Farm Cooking event in the Photo Forum!

This was ok, but wasn't as fudgy as I'd hoped
