Not bad...I couldn't get the coating to stick either and it was a little bland. Next time I going to add some garlic or onion powder or such.
I've made this several times since my husband always requests it. I, too, never have any oil left after frying the meat and the coating is never greasy. Perhaps it's because I use an electric skillet. We love this recipe and the gravy it produces. Note to self: cook in skillet on 325 degrees.
Not sure what the others did wrong but it came out great for me. The steak is meant to be eaten with the gravy...,not quite sure if peoople are using it or not. Either way thanks for sharing I have saved this in my cookbook as I plan to make over and over.
This recipe turned out bland, and I was disappointed because the coating slid off during cooking. I never added the extra 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper because it wasn't clear when to do so and I forgot. That might have helped, but I am not convinced. I'm sorry, but I will need to keep looking for a more flavorful recipe.
Just okay. I was looking for a little more zing.
We loved it..although it was messy to make cause my cube steak kept falling apart. My kids liked it because it was not too spicy for them like some country fried steak.
Very best CFS I've made yet! I did add seasoning salt to my gravy and steaks, but that's about the only change. Delicious, you have to try it!
Not the best country fried steak.
Used this recipe to compliment 2009 New Years Dinner. Georgia style. Used Peppered Season All Seasoning salt instead of salt, pepper and paprika. Added a little zing. Wonderful Recipe!!! My family and I thank you.
Made these for dinner tonight and they were a hit. Spice in the flour is perfect! We will make these again.
