  1. Great recipe! I put in a mix of Golden Delicious and Cortland Apples. I think the Cortland Apples have better consistency in the final product, but try out your favorite apple and see for yourself!

  2. I was looking for an easy fruit dessert/side dish & found this recipe. I used 6 big Gala apples, 1/3c brown sugar (instead of granulated white sugar), 1/2t of apple pie spice (instead of 1/4t cinnamon), and I topped w/1T brown sugar and 1T white sugar (rather than 3/4c brown sugar) and this turned out SO GOOD! YUMMY on its own, probably delicious as a pie fillling or biscuit topping....THANKS FOR SHARING!!

  4. I was up at 3:45am and was looking on-line for apple recipe as my apple tree is loaded, and they needed to be picked. I put everything into a small crockpot that I had bought at a garage sale on Saturday for $2.00 and wanted to make sure it was working as well. Well, the recipe turned out incredible and I am pleased that both the recipe and the crockpot worked perfectly.

  5. oh yes, and add perhaps more spices...more cinnamon, nutmeg, clove...even a little ginger

Recently, cooking has become my favorite hobby! It is hands-on, involves reading, and new ideas and people. Also, my honey is sure happy about it (but not the weight he has gained)!
