Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 34 cups self-rising cornmeal (white or yellow)
  • 3 eggs
  • 12 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups buttermilk


  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Put a little oil or bacon drippings in 9 x 9 brownie pan or you can use large cast iron fry pan.
  3. put pan in oven to heat oil.
  4. Mix all the ingredients together and pour into pan.
  5. bake 15 to 20 minutes or until top is browned.
  6. I cook mine at a little lower temperature for longer since my oven cooks hotter.
  7. You'll know it's ready when top has lightly browned.
