So it snowed here yesterday and now it isn't going to get above freezing until next week sometime. I do not drive in the ice or snow (one less idiot on the road). Thought I had stocked up on everything but forgot ketchup. Came across this post this morning and thought "What the heck..." This is dead on Heinz Ketchup. It's fast, easy, made with pantry staples and it tastes great! Thanks for posting!
My family is attempting to use fewer commercially prepared products, so I thought I would give this one a try. I also wanted to be a little more healthful, so I substituted honey for the corn syrup, and reduced the amount to 1/3 cup. Next time, I think I may even reduce the honey to 1/4 cup. The substitution makes this ketchup a little tangier instead of overly sweet, and we are enjoying it. Thanks for posting!
This ketchup is really good! It is the best that I have tried so far and the closest to Heinz. I don't use corn syrup, so I used honey instead. Thank you so much for this great recipe, that I will be making again soon!

Great recipe. I did use honey instead of corn syrup. It is near identical in taste to Heinz. I will definitely be making this again.
I made this recipe today. I think it's excellent. I would recommend whisking the items together really good before placing them in your pan. A good recipe I'm keeping for future use.
I made this ketchup last night for the first time (using this recipe) and tasted it today. Awesome! I'll promised my family that I'd never buy ketchup again and they're ecstatic.
