I used Buitoni's light alfredo sauce (in the refrigerated section), some preshredded romano/pecorino/parmesan cheeses, and then I shredded my own mozzarella. I did not drain the spinach. I microwaved the cream cheese slightly to soften it. I mixed everything with my hands. It was perfect!
I wasn't sure if this was going to turn out well or not but it was gone before I knew it. lol. I did change it a little. I added 3/4 more spinach, 4 oz more cream cheese, and after I put it in the 8X8 dish I topped it off with a little more mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of Parmesan and Romano Cheese. All in all I think I might have to make more next time because the look on everyone's was was that they wanted more.
Made this last night although it does not taste just like the Applebees dip it is good. My wife says it is better that Applebees because it has more flavor. You deiced for yourself.
wOw!! This recipe is great and extreamly easy!! One thing just make sure you soften the cream cheese for a while because I forgot to do so and ended up with clumps of cream cheese (which I didnt mind) but just incase others do! I will definetly be makeing this over and over again!! thanks for the recipe!
I tried this last night. I am new to cooking and it came out absolutely delicious. It was heavenly!
I found this recipe a few years ago when I was craving Applebee's spinach and artichoke dip during my pregnancy and I fell in love with it! Personally I think it's 100 times better than Applebee's. I make it all the time now. For parties, tailgates, get togethers or just for dinner when my husband and kids ask for it. I recently used it as a pizza topping and it was HEAVEN!!! Everyone asks me for the recipe whenever I bring it to parties. I'll recommend this recipe until the day I die.
This turned out wonderful for my Superbowl party. However, I felt it may have been missing something... maybe it was just a little bit more garlic? Not sure. It was just a little too plain but still very good. Also, it is a great idea to broil the dip in the oven for the last 1 to 2 mins to brown the top. It was delicious and a lot like Applebee's indeed!
this is the best...............
I followed the recipe exactly beyond doubling it. This dip is absolutely incredible! So fast, so easy and way beyond delish! Everyone loved it and when it was gone, they wanted to know if I had more! I am sooo glad there is no mayo in this!!

Note to self: Triple the recipe at the next Super Bowl Party!!
Super delicious and almost identical to Applebee's! I love Applebee's spinach and artichoke dip but don't really like the rest of their food and I've tried other restaurant versions and it's just not the same. Tried out the recipe tonight with the hubby and have tons of leftovers which I'm sure will heat up again just fine. Didn't have parmesan-romano blend just reguar parmesan so I just used an extra 1/2 cup of mozzarella and 1/2 cup less of parmesan. It turned out fantastic and we both loved it! Definitely will make again!
