I love cool whip frosting, not as sweet as the traditional frosting.
- 1 cup milk
- 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant pudding mix, any flavor
- 1⁄4 cup powdered sugar
- 8 ounces Cool Whip
- Pour milk into bowl add pudding mix and sugar.
- Beat with wire whisk for 2 minutes.
- Gently fold in whipped topping.
I used heavy cream instead of milk to make it thicker for piping. It turned out AMAZING!! I made 4 different colors using different colors of food coloring. A double batch frosted 36 cupcakes. Everyone LOVED it!!! Super easy and my son was super excited to help make "homemade" frosting. This is my new go to.

Outstanding frosting, and so easy to make! I used a box of Jell-O vanilla, sugar free, pudding with one cup of milk, and an 8 oz container of extra creamy cool whip (I omitted the frosting sugar because I didn't want it too sweet). I made a Black Forest cake with a chocolate, gluten free, bunt cake generously frosted with the cool whip frosting, and added cherry pie filling in the middle to fill in the hole. The cake had rave reviews and everyone agreed that the creamy delicious frosting was the best! I'm already planning how to use it the next time since you can flavor the frosting with any of the pudding flavors (cheese cake, chocolate, pistachio, banana, etc...). So delicious and light!
