I had never cooked with plantains before, and this recipe was easy and delicious. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to take the peel off or not, so I did one sliced in half with the peel on and the other with no peel. Both turned out great. I put a little butter on all, then jack cheese on two and cinnamon sugar and ground cloves on the other two. Yum!
I love steamed ripe plantains. This dish is even better. I've substituted cloves for 1/2 tsp. powdered cinnamon and the result was sensational.

I had never cooked plantains before, so this seemed like a good place to start. I found that I don't care for plantains, but DH said the recipe was good. He would have preferred leaving off the sugar, as we found it quite sweet. The recipe itself is fine, just not to my taste.
