This is my adopted recipe and I haven't made it yet. This main dish pie is a family favourite from The More-with-Less Cookbook. Make 2 pies and freeze one for a busy weeknight.

  1. Prepare pastry for double crust pie.
  2. Line 9 inch pie plate with half the pastry.
  3. Roll out top crust.
  4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  5. Brown ground beef and onions in frying pan.
  6. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  7. Pour mixture into pastry-lined pie plate.
  8. Add top crust and cut slits in it.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Freezes well.

My family has been enjoying this recipe for years. My kids love it and its also handy to make two a freeze the second one (before baking it) to emjoy later or give to a friend.

This was really good, I think next time I may add some cheddar cheese to it also. DH liked it a lot, it will definitely be made in this household again.
