I make this as a regular breakfast for our toddler. He loves it! The applesauce helps to cool down the steamy oatmeal quickly, and he gets the apple taste without Mommy chopping apples into teeny, tiny pieces!

  1. Combine oats and water in a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high for one minute.
  2. Stir in applesauce.
  3. Add cinnamon to taste if desired.

Sorry but this didn't do anything for us. I think it would be great though for a toddler which is what the notes recommend - maybe not as great for adult tastes.

This was good and easy to make for breakfast. I used cinnamon applesauce so I didn't add any addition cinnamon. I also added a bit a Splenda to sweeten it up a bit.

I gave this recipe 4 stars. I made this recipe for my breakfast. I used cold unsweetened applesauce which I sweetened with a packet of Splenda. I had to re-microwave my oatmeal to rewarm it. I had to add the cinnamon to taste. I loved the fact how easy and fast this was. Overall I will make this again for sure! Thanks for posting a good recipe! Christine (internetnut)
