I got this recipe from a friend after I tried them at her place - they are so good... A nice twist on macaroons!

Oh how I love a nice, moist, chewy macaroon! These fit the bill and then some. I thought I had slivered almonds in the freezer but only had ground almonds. This substitute worked fantastic. The macaroons still had the nutty almond flavor and I didn't need to add any additional condensed milk. Made for S/C America ZWT 7

  1. In a big bowl, mix condensed milk with coffee and vanilla. Stir in coconut and almonds; mix well.
  2. Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper-lined cookie sheets.
  3. Bake on middle rack of preheated 325 degree oven, 10-12 minutes or until browned around the edges. Remove immediately to wire racks; cool completely.
