I have seen alot of recipes on zaar using coconut syrup but the only recipes for the actual syrup are all milk based, this is a simple sugar one I came up with.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 236.59 ml sugar
  • 118.29 ml water
  • 4.92-9.85 ml coconut essence, depending on strength required

Directions

  1. Boil all ingredients until sugar is fully dissolved.

This is really easy and a lot cheaper than the store-bought syrups. I made mine SF by using Splenda. I am going to try other extracts as well, since I have a hard time finding SF flavored syrups except in vanilla. Used this to make Simple Coconut Mocha .

I love this. I saved half as just a plain simple syrup to use in cocktail recipes and then added the coconut essessence to make the coconut sugar syrup. It tastes great as it is and I cant wait to try it in some recipes- I'm off to find some recipes to use it in.
