These are fantastic! They do brown very quickly, so I had to reduce the heat and place an empty cookie sheet on the bottom rack of the oven. I put 1/2 a marischino cherry on top of each cookie before baking, and they were soooo good!

This has to be the easiest, quickest and tastiest cookie recipe I've ever made! I got a call saying the grandkids were on the way and by the time they got here 35 minutes later, I had warm cookies waiting for them. What a great recipe! Thank you for posting. Made for Karen's Cookathon at KittenCal's Kitchen.

I'm not sure if the temp is too high, the time too long, or if maybe my oven runs way too hot, but my haystacks were burnt burnt burnt! My house was filled with smoke. I cooked them at the time and temp specified. Luckily, I was able to scrape off the roasted bottoms and some of the blacker bits on top of the stacks and salvage some of the cookies. What I salvaged was tasty! Next time I make these I may only bake for 10-12 minutes. This recipe was very easy and would be good to whip up for company. Thanks for posting!
