Made these for morning tea for the in-laws today and they were a great hit. I did them as small round scones & sprinkled with vanilla sugar before baking. Great melt in your mouth texture & I love the dry cherries in these, never would have thought of doing that. Thanks a keeper for me!

OUTSTANDING SCONES, THESE! Made the recipe as shown, but with 2 slight changes ~ I added another 1/4 cup of the cherries & also used a generously rounded teaspoon of the lemon zest! Oh, yes, & I did add just a hair more sugar to counter-balance the tartness of the cherries & lemon peel! These were a definite hit with both of us here, & the recipe is a certain keeper! Excellent recipe! I used low-fat milk instead of the half and half to reduce fat. I also didn't add cherries because I didn't have any. I sprinkled the tops with slivered almonds. Absolutely recommend!

These are light and have a nice delicate flavor - next time I think I will add even more coconut because I love it! I love dried cherries in scones - thanks for posting!
