This is another Baked Fried Chicken recipe that also has a gravy sauce. Perfect served with mashed potatoes and corn.

Ingredients Nutrition

Directions

  1. Chicken: Combine flour, salt and pepper. Roll chicken in flour mixture, then in egg whites and then in bread crumbs.
  2. Melt margarine and oil together. Add chicken and fry until golden brown on each side.
  3. Bake chicken at 400 degrees uncovered until cooked all the way through. If the chicken is browning faster than it's cooking in the middle feel free to cover with foil to save it from burning.
  4. Sauce: In the frying pan used to brown the chicken, using the chicken drippings to saute the mushrooms until done. Add flour and cook and stir until smooth.
  5. Add soup, Stir and add enough water to make a thick gravy consistency boil so it thickens to know for sure how much water to add. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add sour cream and heat.
  7. Serve gravy over mashed potatoes with chicken.

This was a hit with us! Loved how the chicken had such a nice crispy coating and was extremely moist inside. The gravy was great too. Will definitely be keeping this recipe! Thanks!!

I added a dash of turmeric and a dash of thyme to the gravy and I added enough water so the gravy was not thick when the sour cream was added. I don't use as much sour cream because I want DH to eat.
