This is a great recipe! I made it with egg noodles, I think I'm going to try a diff kind next time - Goin to go for Farkay! Instructs were good, there was a moment there about adding rest of vinegar to jar I didn't quite understand, so I added 1/2 tbsp more vinegar to the sauce. All in all, good flavor, not too greasy or salty, nice amount of ginger and garlic. But you know how it is when you have ideas about what a dish is...I want to keep searching until I have the chow mein I get in restaurants here in BC. This is a yummy home chowmein tho', for certain! Great recipe! Tastes like take-out. :) I forget to marinate ahead of time EVERY time I make this, but it turns out fine if I marinate while I chop veggies. I add frozen peas and green onions and it's a big hit at our house!
Very Good! I think just for my liking I may try a little less sesame oil.
Wow! I think that this might be the best lomein recipe that I have tried, out of many. It has a very authentic flavor. The right balance of sweet, salty, and sour, that is so crucial to the dish. I also added a little red pepper flak to add a hint of heat. Just a personal preference. Delicious!
I loved this!! The only change i made was to use bean sprouts instead of the cabbage. Even my 4yr old-picky-eater eat it!!
Fabulous recipe for lo mein. I've made it many times but kept forgetting to rate it. I usually use it for leftover pork roast. It's very versatile. I added red bell pepper rather than carrots since hubby doesn't like carrots. Thanks!
Tasty! I prepped pretty much as directed and used all of the sauce. I didn't want to waste any of that yummy goodness:) I used 12 oz of cooked Udon noodles and a heaping 1/2 TBSP of ground ginger instead of the prescribed ingredients. I didn't see where it said how much vinegar to add to the sauce since the 1 TBSP was used in the marinade so I just threw another TBSP in the sauce. I did cook some rice to go along with the Lo Mein, but didn't even serve it as the noodles were more than enough starch. My entire family LOVED this dish:) Thanks for coming up with the recipe.
It was great,but I alway tinker with it! I made it vegetarian by substituting sliced mushrooms for meat.Kudos to carrie for putting ingredients from different recipes togethrer,like I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I Made it for my friends and they loved it.
Excellent flavor!My kids loved it (6,4,1) and so did my husband. Recipe for the sauce is pretty much right on and the rest anyone can customize to their liking as far as veggies.
