this was my go to recipe in the 70's and now that my cooking skills are much improved i made it again using fresh garlic, mushrooms, onion and substituted pearl barley for the rice, some goat cheese and herbs de provence, substituted baby leseur peas for the brocolli, homemade chicken stock and it was fabulous.

This is an easy to make casserole and since I had all the ingredients on hand, intant dinner. I did add a few seasonings since it did need a ittle more pizzaz as well as a few squeezes of fresh lemon juice to wake up the fresh broccoli. I also topped it with cheese after baking and popped it back in the oven to melt the cheese - pretty darn good!

Wonderful recipe! I used mushroom rice that we had leftover. Even the kids loved it!

This is a nice, warming and complete meal that we enjoyed. Next time, I will probably jazz it up a bit by adding some garlic and onion. Thanks for sharing!
