This is a classic version of a Southern Pecan Pie, it is a favorite around the holidays. If you like you can alter this recipe, to be a Rum Pecan Pie, by adding3 tablespoons of rum, when you add the eggs.
- Combine butter, sugar and corn syrup; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Let cool slightly. Add eggs, vanilla, and salt, mix well.
- Pour filling into an unbaked pastry shell and top with pecan halves. Bake at 325F for 50-55 minutes. Pie can be served warm or cold.
