Well, I've been on the American scene since 1964 (the year I was born), and this was the first clam dip I've had occasion to try. It's delicious! Clam dip!? Where have you been all my life? :) My husband, on the other hand, reports that he has tried 'many' clam dips, and he said this ranks right up there with the best of'em!
I was looking for some recipes for a fifties theme party. This fit the bill. It was so easy to make and the bowl was scraped clean at the party. I also liked the fact I could make it the night before. I served it with crackers, celery and carrots.
My dh made this for our New Year's Eve appy buffet and I'm so glad that he found it. I'd never had clam dip before but this is great! I preferred it with crackers over chips.
perfect, I added 6 Tablespoons of juice unstead of 4 T, plus I added 5 drops of Tabasco and a bit of garlic powder. again great ty
I was born on the East Coast and raised on the West Coast, and needles to say, sea food is a major part of our family's diet. This recipe is so good and so easy to prepare! I used chopped clams, and actually put in an extra 7-oz. can of clams, well-drained. I also added a few shakes of garlic powder. I'm spreading the word that home-made clam dip is so much tastier than the "nasty stuff" found in those little tubs at the grocery store!
This is very similar to the recipe I use. I don't use Worcestershire or lemon juice. But I add six drops of tobasco and a dash of garlic salt. We have it every Christmas.
I served this on celery and with crackers as a spread. It was great!
Yes! This is the perfect "classic" clam dip! It's absolutely wonderful. I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese to cut a little fat. I only needed about half of the reserved clam juice. Thanx for a wonderful and easy clam dip!
Excellent, easy and addictive! I used onion powder to keep my picky kid happy and didn't use the reserved clam juice. I put this together in 5 minutes or less. YUM! Thanks for sharing.
Just like Mom used to make! Decided to make clam dip for my Christmas Eve open house. Looked for a recipe close to Mom's and this was definately it. My husband couldn't believe I had never told him about or made him clam dip before. He has dedcided I wll be making it often..LOL. Thanks so much.
