I have made these black beans so many times I can't even tell you. I could eat them every week they're so good. We love them in our house!!
I love this, it's a great side dish with roasted Mexican spiced chicken and corn. Definitely has been my go-to for years.
Delicious and easy to prepare,
I have made these beans a lot, but I make the following changes: 1) I do not add the water because I do not like them soupy, 2) I put in a little less vinegar (I haven't tried wine) and 3) I do not add the sugar. My born-in-Cuba friend LOVES my black beans which I serve with Cuban pork, rice, avocado salad and tortillas. Yummy!
Awesome and super easy recipe and fast recipe if using canned beans (which I did). Wonderful flavor and especially yummy the day after when they got thicker and even more flavorful. Thumbs up!
This was a great lunch. It was affordable and easy to make with all the ingredients from the cupboard. I used the substitute seasoning and I thought it was great, DH thought it was okay so I gave it a 4. I would make this again, thank you!
This is the first time we've made something like this, even though we love this type of food. We gave some to one of our elderly friends of the family who absolutely loves black beans and rice, and she says this is one of the best she's ever tasted. Needless to say, we always make extra for her now. Even though I'm not a big lover of rice, I can't seem to get enough when we have it with this recipe.
I made this without the green peppers. I didn't have the Goya mix so I used chicken bullion, cumin and garlic salt as the recipe suggests. I put some lime juice over the rice after it was cooked. Yum Yum Yum! Great dish!
Mmmm...creamy from the beans and a bit crunchy from the rice. I enjoyed it tremendously. I added a little bit of green chili for a little kick. Will make it again. Thank you.
Overall, very easy to make and made a nice side dish for fajitas. Made as per the recipe, except used cumin and some extra garlic powder as I didn't have sazon goya. Was very good, but a little bit bland for our taste. I would probably add a bit more garlic next time, and perhaps increase the spices.
