  1. These were really good and easy. I used a white cake mix. I did make a few adjustments however..for one thing, after the dough had risen, it was too soft to roll out so I worked in probably 1/2 to 3/4 C more flour.. To the softened butter I added about 1/2 tsp of Maple flavoring, spread that over the dough then a healthy sprinkle of brown sugar, then the cinnamon/sugar mix... I placed them on a greased baking sheet just touching.. after they were finished baking, I made a caramel glaze by melting some butter and stirring in brown sugar till it dissolved, a little cream, then throwing in some chopped nuts, I will certainly be making these again, for sure throughout the Thanksgiving Holi-daze. Thanks for a great idea Edited to say that I made/baked these the night before I needd them, I covered them with foil and in the morning just reheated them in a low oven,,they did not dry out and were as good as they were fresh out of the oven... EDITED AGAIN !.... I made these a second time using a small "Jiffy" yellow cake mix, just 1/2'd everything else, (1 pkg yeast, 2 1/2 C flour, 1 1/4 C water), it made one cookie sheet full and was devoured at the Ladies Bible Study that morning. I also added some orange juice, rind and extract to some cream cheese icing for some of the tops. I'm thinking next time I might add some zest and extract to the dough for a treat... I love this easy, versitile recipe, can you tell???

  2. I really wanted to love these--they were easy to make and the dough smelled great--I just wasn't wild about the flavor and texture. It was denser than my favorite cinnamon rolls. The recipe also did not include amounts for butter and cinnamon sugar used in rolling--I used about 1/4 cup butter (could have used more), 3/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. The amount of sugar was good, but I wished I had put in lots more cinnamon. No glaze instructions either! I just winged that as well. All in all, they looked beautiful but unded up lacking what I look for in a great cinnamon roll. (It did make 12 large and lovely looking rolls!)

I live in eastern NM in a small community. We farm and I am also the elementary secretary at the school. I've been at the school going on 14 years, moving this year from high school to elem. Nice change. It's a small school (250 pre-k to 12) so it's a very rewarding job. I know all the students and I love them all. My husband & I both have our own motorcycle, although I don't ride as much as he does. I love to cook, but I like to cook for a lot of people and you can tell when I start something. Usually it ends up being for an army when it's just my husband & I, our kids are grown. I don't know if I have a favorite cookbook, I just like them all and I get alot of recipes off the internet now. My passion is my God and my family. Pet Peeves-someone thinking they are better than me. I would like to travel if I had a month off with my family. Just take my time and enjoy the sights.
