From Australian Good Taste, posted for the Greek leg of ZWT 4.
- 6 green cardamom pods
- 1 (7 cm) cinnamon sticks
- 2 teaspoons caster sugar
- 2 cinnamon apple tea bags
- 500 ml boiling water
- 2 tablespoons ouzo
- ice cube, to serve
- Place the cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, sugar and tea bags in a large heatproof jug. Add the boiling water and stir until sugar dissolves. Set aside for 3 minutes to infuse. Remove the tea bags and discard.
- Stir in the ouzo and place in the fridge for 2 hours to chill. Place the ice cubes in serving glasses and pour over the chilled tea to serve.
Wonderful drink! We loved this and I am planning on making it again soon. Very refreshing!
I loved this drink(without the ouzo). I didn't have apple tea bags so used instant apple cider! Delicious cold on a muggy day. Thanks! Made for ZWT4.
I love this drink Mandy. I made this for the ZWT 4 Photo Challenge and am glad I tried it. I got fresh green cardamom and it smells and tastes great. My family and I went to Greece for the 2004 Olympic Games and I brought back a bottle of Ouzo from that trip. This was a wonderful new way to enjoy it. Thanks for posting, Jan
