Questions & Replies

  1. Am I missing something here, why is there no cinnamon in the main recipe if this is a cinnamon muffin? To sprinkle or dip the top in cinnamon sugar is not enough to give the muffin mix a distinct flavor profile.

  2. I don't have allspice.. is there a way to make it without? Thanks!

  3. So I want to save these to eat later and I was wondering if either the glaze hardened or if they still tasted good without a glaze

Reviews

  1. These were so good! My husband doesn't care for muffins, and he said they were delicious! I only got 10 small muffins, so maybe next time I would update the recipe to make 16, and probably end up with 12 good size ones. They were light, and not too sweet. Very good!

  2. I had a craving for muffins this morning and discovered your recipe. I'm so glad I did because these muffins just hit the spot. Delightful, light and just the right amount of sweetness. I added just a touch more sugar to the mix because I have a sweet tooth. I'm headed back for another right now! Thank you, Charlotte for a wonderful breakfast!

  3. These muffins were delicious! Moist and very tasty! I didn't have the allspice so I had to omit it - but they still tasted great! Had to bake mine for a little longer. Next time I may add some chopped up walnuts or pecans for a change. Really great! This one is a keeper! Thanks Charlotte.

  4. These are awesome muffins!! The perfect get your day started off right breakfast. They had a delicious spiced flavor and we loved the cinnamon-sugar topping. I served with steaming hot Mexican hot chocolate. Thanks Charlotte J, for another great recipe.

Tweaks

  1. I recommend doubling the recipe to get bigger muffins...

  2. We love these muffins! I doubled the recipe and followed other suggestions to use oil instead of butter and added an extra 3 tbsp sugar to the batter. The smell of cinnamon and all spice was heaven! 5* from all of of us - thanks!

  3. I actually cut the milk and replace it with coffee. Along with the white sugar I sub with golden brown sugar and cut the amount in half for a nice cinnamon coffee muffin.

  4. I didn't have any allspice or nutmeg so I used cinnamon instead (being that they are supposed to be cinnamon muffins). Also, I used 1 cup of milk instead of what the recipe called for (because the batter was was way to thick). I also added 1 cap full of cooking oil to lighten up the muffins, since I kept seeing that the recipe was too dense. Turned out absolutely wonderful! My family loves them!

  5. I added friend blueberries.
