  1. Spray grill with cooking spray. Preheat grill for 6 minutes.
  2. In a medium shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla. Soak slices of bread in egg mixture.
  3. Place slices of bread on the grill. Close lid and cook 4 minutes or until done. Repeat with remaining bread.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon before serving with butter and syrup.

I made this recipe this morning and I've got to say that it's absolutely heavenly. I, to my own surprise, enjoyed it so much that I didn't even bother with the cinnamon! I used the Old Italian Bread from Franz Bakery and even drizzled a few pieces with brown butter before serving. Delish!

We've been going through french toast recipes on this site, and this one earned a permanent spot in our breakfast rotation. We forgot the cinnamon, and they still turned out wonderful.
