"This is an awesome cookie recipe my mom made for me growing up. It has Pennsylvania Dutch roots, great for the holidays or for a treat."

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, beat well with electric mixer for 2 minutes on medium speed.
  • Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. ( At this point, I use dough hooks instead of the beaters.).
  • Chill dough 1-2 hours.
  • In a small bowl, mix nuts, cinnamon, and 2 tbls. sugar.
  • Mold dough into 1 inch balls.
  • Roll each ball in the mixture of of sugar, cinnamon, and nuts.
  • Place balls 2 1/2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake @ 350* for 12 minutes.

  1. All around this is a fabulous recipe. The one I have is a little different, don't chill, different nuts, smaller recipe but basically this same. I would say you could use any kind of nut you like. Also, you can play around a lot with this recipe.

Hi to all... I love to eat which influences my love to cook. I love making cookies and homeade chocolates for the holidays as presents to friends and family. I am a union plumber, and "exotic eater".
