    Chef #208121's Note:

A no brainer.. so why didn't I think of it? Use a tight fitting 1-cup glass jar taller than the cinnamon sticks. Use in addition to or in place of vanilla.

Great idea, I didn't think of it either, even though I have been doing it with vanilla for years. I used a whole bottle of vodka, minus about 2/3 cup, to give enough room to put in the cinnamon sticks. I bought half a pound of cinnamon sticks, which were not so expensive at the Middle Eastern market and used 40 in the bottle of vodka. I have enough left for another bottle though with the quantity I bought. It will be nice in certain recipes, and as a gift in smaller glass bottles. Smells great, looks kind of pretty too.
