Cinnamon Cake

One of our patients family members made this for the nurses in our unit, and were kind enough to attach the recipe to it. It is so delicious and very easy to whip up. This is definitely not a dessert for anyone counting calories.

Kelley, this is out of this world. The cake is so moist and the topping is just perfect. This is one of the best cinnamon type recipes I have made. I finally had to cover it and put it away - I kept taking "just one more" little slice. Thanks so much for this recipe.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream eggs, sugar and salt.
  3. Heat milk and butter until hot, but do not boil.
  4. Add milk very slowly to egg mixture, beating mixture constantly so you don't"scramble" the eggs.
  5. Blend flour and baking powder together and stir into mixture.
  6. Mix well, the batter will be runny.
  7. Pour into 9x13 inch greased pan and bake for 35 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately rub the top of the cake with the stick of butter until completely melted.
  9. Mix together cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle evenly onto the top of the cake.
  10. Cool cake to room temperature, or serve it warm.
