directions

  • In a big microwave bowl, heat honey at low power (10 %) for 1 minute or until melted. Add cinnamon and almonds and mix well to coat them. Spread almonds on a baking sheet with greased parchment paper.
  • Bake in a preheated oven of 350 F for about 15 minutes or until almonds are golden (shake one time). Put the baking sheet on a grill and shake the almonds. Let cool completely (the mixture will get hard). Broke the almond mixture in pieces and put in a bowl. Add salt and mix.

Questions & Replies

  1. What does it mean to put the baking sheet on a grill? I'm confused by this. Do you mean a cooling rack? Thanks.

  1. Was great as is; I'd echo the 10 minute watch time. I did try a portion of these sprinkled with the least little bit of cayenne pepper, when they had 2 minutes left on the timer. Mmmm. Good either way.

  2. This recipe is delicious as written. I find it works best to stir it a few times while in the oven. The baking time varies but about 13 minutes works best usually. I also find that the general principle of baking with honey works with all kinds of spices. One I really like is to replace the cinnamon with ground/dried hot peppers. There are endless variations with different nut, seed and spice combos.

  3. Yummy! These were on my To Make List for Christmas, but never did! So a very cold day seemed like, the time! Delicious! I may try a few variations another time, but I love as is!

  4. I tried this same recipe with just a cup of peanuts and it was amazing! I also dusted the peanuts with a quarter tsp. of ginger powder at the very end and it added a nice spicy kick. I also turned the oven off at 15 min and let them sit inside for another ten.

  5. Totally yummy snack! These turned out a bit sticky, but it has been raining here all day. Hopefully tomorrow they will dry up, since finally the rain has stopped! The taste is exquisite....thanks for sharing!
