- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1⁄2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 (28 ounce) cans tomatoes, peeled crushed
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons basil leaves, dried
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
directions
- In a 5 quart dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and parsley. Cook stirring, 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, 45 minutes.
