Recipe from "Ma's Cookin'" Mountain Recipes. Copyright of 1969. I love this cookbook, cuz they talk like they's real mountin peeple. LOL. I will write recipe exactly as written. It's a great quick drink for any dinner.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a pan with the exception of the sugar and ginger ale.
  2. Sweetn to taste and then chill.
  3. When ready to use add ginger ale and serve.
  4. Serve very cold.

I made this for a fall Piano recital and chilled it with ice from Sonic. they sell bags of crushed ice. Made a triple batch and brought very little of it home. Went well. Have to save this for future uses.

I cannot believe this recipe has been posted for 3 years without someone trying it! This may very well be my go-to Autumn drink. I loved this! The ginger ale really gives it that little zing.....not to mention the bubbles! Thnx for much for sharing your recipe, mama. Made for Comfort Cafe Snow Queen Chalet Jan 2010.
