This is from Goergetown Ritz-Carlton in Washington D.C.. This is in honor of the 17year cicada!
Make and share this Cicada Cocktail Minus the Bugs! recipe from Food.com.
- 2 ounces of frozen orange-infused vodka
- 4 ounces fresh pineapple juice
- 1 ounce blue curacao
- 2 fresh pineapple chunks
- Shake very good all ingredients with ice.
- Strain and serve in 2 chilled martini glasses straight up and garnish with a pineapple wedge.
When I saw this cocktail I had to try it -- I live in DC right outside of Georgetown. It's delicious, and definitely much better than living through a summer of those horrible bugs!
We don't have cicadas on the west coast, but I wanted to try this because it sounded fun and I had the ingredients on hand. I added slightly more vodka to mine. This was very good and is a pretty teal color. I garnished the glass with a plastic bug on a pick to complete the theme.
i used lemon vodka, but this is a delicious cocktail! light and refreshing, and i appreciate the fact that it is bug-less :)
